Afropunko

Trapasante la vivon kiel minoritato, oni alkutimiĝas senti kiel eksterulo, de neniam tute kongrui. Tiel multe, ke mia unua fojo iranta al Afropunk mi tuj estis frapita de la sento esti hejme. Estis nekonata sento havi. Senti sin inkluzivita tute kaj nejuĝita. Mi sidis en la herbo dum homoj dancis ĉirkaŭ mi simple festante sian nigrecon. Iliaj belaj nigraj korpoj tordiĝis al la muziko eksplodanta super la laŭtparoliloj dum fumblovoj plenigis la aeron.. AFROPUNK estas kunvenejo por aŭskulti, lerni kaj ludi, kiel la komunumo kunvenas por vidi kaj esti vidita, paroli laŭte kaj fiere, rezisti.

Festivalanoj havas unikan sperton inkluzive de arto, Modo, food and local artisans selling their wares. With a worldwide presence from Paris to Johannesburg and London, AFROPUNK returns to its roots each year when it makes its way to Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn.
This year’s theme was The People Resist, a message that “brings together AFROPUNK ideology and the people who support it, in resistance to those that strive to oppress.” Headliners included Erykah Badu, Tyler, The Creator, Miguel and Janelle Monáe. Fantastic Negrito and Jacob Banks also gave standout performances.
Afropunko, the annual celebration in support of unity through music, Arto, dance, and food personifies the power of the people as a collective.
