Ocean Park Standoff X Seeb – “Lost Boys”

Ocean Park Standoff, an alt-pop LA-based trio originally established in 2016, are revealing their latest upbeat interpretation, ‘Lost Boys’, which transpires as a collaborative production alongside Grammy-nominated Norwegian act Seeb. “Lost Boys” explores the rich vocals of Ethan Thompson, who delineates the melodic release as “Forgetting the rules and living in complete freedom.”
Coming from equally interesting worlds, each of the artists behind Ocean Park Standoff individually resonates with the music industry. Pete Nappi, a self-taught producer, draws inspiration from underground hip-hop and rock art, creating exceedingly innovative productions, who, as a child, constructed his basement into his own music studio. Samantha Ronson, a DJ whose creative longevity has taken her to prestigious global gigs, ʻike ʻia ʻo ia no kāna haku mele a me kāna mau mea kani he nui. Ethan Thompson, ke alakaʻi a me ka hoʻomaʻamaʻa leo mele, Ua hōʻike mua ʻo ia i kona akamai mele kaulana i ka haku mele ʻana no nā mea pena kiʻi., pela e kaahele ana i na wahi wela o L.A, e hōʻike ana i kona hiki ke mele/mele.

ʻO nā keiki kāne nalowale’ reflect a particular message or resonate with anything/anyone? Inā pēlā, can you please elaborate.
Lost boys were actually the first song the three of us wrote together and we think shows why we love writing together. We were talking about all the stresses we had going on and wanted to write something that was an escape from that. The verses are actually a mix of personal stories from all of us and the chorus is our “forget about it for a moment” anthem.
How did Ocean Park Standoff originally establish? How did all of you come together?
We had our first session together in early 2016. Samantha and Pete had gotten set up on a session together and loved each other’s vibes, mainly that Samantha was such a lover of analog and Pete was a digital creator. Pete brought me (Ethan) e hīmeni a kākau pū me Samantha no nā mea a lākou i haku ai. Ma hope o ka hana ʻana i ʻelua mau kau a hui pū “Lost Boys” a “Nuhou maikai” Ua ʻike mākou aia mākou i kekahi mea a ua ʻōlelo ʻo Samantha e lilo mākou i hui a pāʻani ma kekahi mau wahi no ka leʻaleʻa. Pēlā i hoʻomaka ai ka mea holoʻokoʻa!
Ma waho aʻe o ka hui pū ʻana me Seeb, he aha nā papahana ʻē aʻe āu e lohe ai?
Hauʻoli nui mākou no ka makahiki e hiki mai ana he pūʻulu mele hou e puka mai ana a kokoke e hele i ke ala me AJR., he hui a mākou i pā ai no kekahi manawa. Ma ʻApelila e hoʻokuʻu ana mākou i kā mākou mele hou aʻe me kahi wikiō a mākou e paʻi nei i ka hoʻomaka ʻana o Malaki! Nui nā mele i hoʻokuʻu ʻole ʻia a mākou e pāʻani nei ma nā hōʻikeʻike, aia pū kekahi e kamaʻilio e hoʻokuʻu i kahi mixtape me kekahi mau kiʻi ola mai nā hōʻike.. E noho mālie!
Pehea ʻoe e makemake ai e ʻike iā Ocean Park Standoff i kekahi mau makahiki’ manawa? E hoʻolohe mau ana paha mākou iā Ocean Park Standoff i nā makahiki e hiki mai ana?
Makemake mākou i ka hui pū ʻana a e puka mau ana nā mele mai kēia hui ke hoʻolohe ka poʻe. ʻAʻole hiki iā mākou ke kali i nā hanana hou aʻe ma ke ala a me nā mea e hiki mai ana. ʻO kā mākou poʻe pā kekahi o ka lehulehu hype a ua mākaukau mau mākou e hoʻi i waho a pāʻani.
