આફ્રોપંક

લઘુમતી તરીકે જીવનમાંથી પસાર થવું, વ્યક્તિ બહારની વ્યક્તિ જેવી લાગણી કરવા ટેવાયેલો બની જાય છે, ક્યારેય તદ્દન ફિટ નથી. આટલું બધું, કે હું પ્રથમ વખત એફ્રોપંક જઉં છું ત્યારે હું તરત જ ઘરે હોવાની લાગણીથી ત્રાટકી ગયો હતો. તે એક અજાણી લાગણી હતી. સંપૂર્ણપણે સમાવિષ્ટ અને નિર્ણાયક લાગે છે. હું ઘાસમાં બેઠો હતો કારણ કે લોકો મારી આસપાસ નાચતા હતા અને ફક્ત તેમના કાળાપણુંની ઉજવણી કરતા હતા. ધુમાડાના ગોટેગોટા હવામાં ભરાઈ જાય તેમ સ્પીકર્સ પર સંગીતના અવાજ સાથે ગૂંજી ઉઠતા તેમના સુંદર કાળા શરીર. AFROPUNK એ સાંભળવા માટે ભેગા થવાનું સ્થળ છે, શીખો અને રમો, જેમ કે સમુદાય જોવા અને જોવા માટે એકસાથે આવે છે, મોટેથી અને ગર્વથી બોલવું, પ્રતિકાર કરવો.

ઉત્સવમાં જનારાઓ કલા સહિત એક પ્રકારનો અનુભવ મેળવે છે, ફેશન, food and local artisans selling their wares. With a worldwide presence from Paris to Johannesburg and London, AFROPUNK returns to its roots each year when it makes its way to Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn.
This year’s theme was The People Resist, a message that “brings together AFROPUNK ideology and the people who support it, in resistance to those that strive to oppress.” Headliners included Erykah Badu, Tyler, The Creator, Miguel and Janelle Monáe. Fantastic Negrito and Jacob Banks also gave standout performances.
આફ્રોપંક, the annual celebration in support of unity through music, કલા, dance, and food personifies the power of the people as a collective.
