Melike Kara

Cologne-based Melike Kara is a multimedia artist who creates both sculptures and paintings. The mysterious and enigmatic characters that practically dance across the canvas, are often faceless, creating a feeling of longing as you ponder them.
Although the characters are very simple, staying away from emotional associations, it is still possible to be curious about the associations behind the figures. Focusing on different parts of the body, Kara’s work re-assembles the human form creating mysterious representations.
