Blood Brother’s SS18 Collection is all about the self-destruction of humanity. Through their signature mix of relaxed silhouettes like bomber jackets and boiler suits, the brand has combined the familiar with the future; a Lamborghini Diablo is featured racing across several pieces, with big, bold, advertisements splashed onto others. The idea is that through our continuous pursuit of digitization, humanity will destroy itself and the planet, making escaping to an alternate, digital reality the only way to find what we seek. Slogans like “plug in”, “upgrade your account”, and “save me” are set against futuristic backdrops to ingrain the ideas within the clothes. Bold reds and bright blues provide vivid color in an otherwise neutral landscape of relaxed-fit streetwear, croc-skin trench coats, and utilitarianist sets.
