Showcased in notable galleries and museums such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British contemporary artist Amar Stewart brings 17th Century Portraits into the present. The artist questions the notion of Royalty in our present lives using modern artists as muses in his portraits.

Stewart initiated his artistic career in London, working around inspirations from the city life and music. Later on, Stewart fined his style through his biggest inspiration, hip-hop artists as subjects of his paintings. Taking use of traditional and avant-garde techniques, the artist uses an oil medium to reimpose present icons into old-fashioned portraits. Amar Stewart’s paintings have been showcased along-side the infamous Banksy, gaining recognition day-by-day as Stewart portrays captivating paradoxes in his artistry.
